We turn off the music on the beach and pool at 18:00 hrs and only leave the restaurant & terrace with music until 23:00 (low volume only for ambiance the dinning room) At 23:00 hrs we close our restaurant. We do not have DJ's or parties on property.

Hello, unfortunately seaweed has arrived this year a little early. It is impressive but the difference is vast from one day to the other: Heat and tide are some variables. We have out iconic pool and private plunge pools in 12 of our 16 suites.

Lovely

This was a stunningly beautiful hotel, architecturally designed, right in the middle of Tulum Beach. The room was very large, and comfortable, and had a private plunge pool.

The only negative was that the hotel also operates a Beach Club, and the music from the beach club can be heard in the room. If you are out for the day, that is fine, because the music stops at 6pm. But if you want some peace and quiet in your room in the afternoon, you are out of luck. Also, like everywhere in Tulum the prices seemed very expensive by Australian standards.

Excellent place for a relaxing stay in Tulum!

This hotel is located on the best part of the beach with no seaweed. The beach beds are comfortable as are the beds in the rooms. The food is great too!

There was a slight damp smell in our first room due to the straw roof. However we requested to move to a different room and the new one was perfect.

The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the happenings of each day/night on the Tulum strip. My girlfriend and I loved the boutique feel of the hotel and the personal attention we received. Will be back again soon!

The hotel is a wonderful facility it's gorgeous and the staff make the stay all worth the while.

The location was central on the beach relatively close to town. The facility was well designed and tranquil, the staff was amazing tending to your every need. The food was well thought out and presented amazingly congratulations to the chefs. All is aligned for a great experience.

The management of insects in the rooms needs improvement, the maids and room service need to make sure the door isn't left open. I suggest providing bug solutions for the rooms and relief for the guests who happen to get attacked. Advice on what to do when attacked would help including some remedies would be good.

Fab resort in expensive Tulum

Beautiful, amazing room, loved all the natural elements and all the attention to detail. Staff were incredibly friendly. It was such a surprise that it was turtle nesting season, sea turtles came on the beach every night to lay eggs and on some nights the turtles hatched, it was magical!

Location isn't great at the end of the seasons as everything around closes up. Restaurant was expensive, but in line with Tulum, we just found it much more expensive that expected

Nice beach location in tulum

The natural vibe of the hotel was stunning. The beach was clean and food was amazing. The bedroom pool was bigger than expected and the rooms were kept immaculate. The staffs professionalism when we had an issue with our safe was admired. We were celebrating our honeymoon and a bottle of wine dropped up on arrival was a lovely touch

We felt a different energy from the beach staff when we weren’t spending or tipping a lot of money. The main pool was also very small and discrepancies each morning over what was included in the breakfast.

Outstanding boutique hotel with great service and unbelievable food!

I visited the property during the beginning of July and cannot fault the hotel or the staff at all. I predominantly was visiting the hotel to propose to my girlfriend on the beach, the staff were unbelievably helpful in supporting the organisation of the day but also complimentary throughout my stay. The food is absolutely outstanding and surprised me as to just how good it was. Special shout-out to Zacil who was extremely prompt in responding to any queries and issues as well as Jose from the breakfast staff for accommodating all our requests and the top service. I had an unforgettable experience as it will always be where I got engaged to my partner but also memorable for just how special the staff made the occasion!

I wasn’t expecting as much seaweed on the beach!

Romantic and Relaxing Getaway

All of the food and drinks served in the hotel restaurant were exceptional. There wasn't a single item on the menu I tried that wasn't delicious. The hotel was quiet and clean, not a place for partying, which is precisely what we were looking for in a relaxing getaway. It's a little ways away from both Tulum City and the main chunk of restaurants/nightlife, but you can quickly travel by foot, taxi, bike, or scooter to anywhere you need to get. We walked south to restaurants several times, and it was no big deal. The staff was so gracious and attentive. We were very comfortable and well taken care of the entire time.

The whole area where the hotel is located is more expensive in general. Once you travel to town, the prices drop considerably.

Perfect!

A beautiful hotel and location. Quiet, relaxing and intimate - perfect for couples wanting a quiet retreat. The staff are kind and helpful. Fabiola was extremely supportive in managing our booking before we arrived. The rooms and hotel exterior has a beautiful, calming aesthetic. All the staff know your name and are always there to help at any occasion. Thank you to Valeria for your extra care. Despite stays in 5* resorts around the world, we have never felt so cared for regarding food as we have at Ma’xanab. Rather than feeling like an inconvenience and having limited options that are never really that great, Fabiola and Gerardo went out of their way to create incredible food options to ensure we had the same dining experience as other guests and a bonus; the food was incredible! All in all, we had a wonderful stay; the standard of care at a Ma’xanab was excellent, communication was fast and the service was amazing.

At the price you pay, I would expect a better transportation service with regards to transport in and out of Tulum Pueblo. A bike is a pleasant ‘extra’ but not exactly the best transportation in 35C and 90% humidity. The road is awful and on a low rider bike with no gears means a ‘15 minute’ bike ride takes more like 30 minutes. The whole situation is miserable, and we left more tired and sore than I did when I arrived. The hotel should offer a shuttle that takes you in and out of town at certain points of the day. This is the most sustainable option as it means guest would not pay (outrageously) to get taxis instead. It would have been easier to get to Tulum if we had stayed in Playa del Carmen as hotels there offer free shuttles daily. It’s such a shame as this is the only thing that made our stay uncomfortable and more difficult than it had to be. Everything else was perfect.

Pampered in heaven

The property is small and intimate, which meant I had the staff’s undivided attention. The front desk team — Claudio and Dyanne —responded to requests quickly and efficiently at all times, and provided excellent recommendations for places to dine based on knowing my interests. The restaurant/beach staff were wonderful and especially Jose and Gabriel who made me feel pampered. the rooms were beautifully designed and all comforts and amenities were available. I especially loved the outdoor shower and private patio area. I can’t recommend Ma’xanab more for a stay in Tulum.

Nothing to dislike. It was wonderful.

bloody brilliant. put your feet up and enjoy a slice of heaven in every sense. the team match the amazing property.

all staff outside of manager was exceptional, truly. especially the pool and front desk. brilliant. property, Loveky upgraded room at a fair price, thank you. Found the inflexibility on an hours late check out both disappointing and slightly short / rude from one of the ladies on front desk considering there is so much availability still. no drinks or towel upon arrival - a standard at a 5star hotel. food and drinks 10/10. 100% would return - great place and team. thank you!!
